Chicago Mountaineering Club
The Chicago Mountaineering Club was founded in 1940 and has a mission is to promote interest in the sport and craft of mountaineering, foster fellowship among climbers of the Chicago/Midwest area, disseminate mountaineering knowledge and information, develop skill in the climbing techniques of its Members, and sponsor local practice outings and periodic western outings.
Membership in the Club is open to anyone who is 18 years of age or older, is interested in climbing/mountaineering and has fulfilled the remaining membership requirements.

content being added to the web site to events and outings that are
sponsored by the Chicago Mountaineering club, this is the page to

Annual Dinner March 12th The Chicago
Mountaineering Club is excited to announce that Conrad Anker will
our very special guest speaker for the 76th annual banquet on
March 12th at the Discovery Center in Brookfield Zoo.
Money raised by the
fundraiser will be donated to the Khumbu Climbing Center.
As always, we'll have our annual raffle and silent auction, so
your checkbook to get great gear for a fraction of the price!

2016 Outing Schedule
The outing schedule for 2016 has been added to the
calendar. Please note two outings were not on the schedule published in
the newsletter: May 21-22
and July 9-10 at Devil's Lake. Also, guests are welcome to the
Access Fund Acquires Holy Boulders – Asks for Further
The Access Fund is pleased to announce that it has acquired the
Holy Boulders in Southern
more help is needed from the climbing community to fund, raise,
and transfer the property to
a long-term owner.
Alpine Mentoring Program (AMP)
The Chicago Mountaineering Club Would Like to Invite
Interested Members to Explore the World of Alpine Climbing!
The purpose of AMP is to provide exposure to alpine climbing
interested climbers from the Midwest. Open to all CMC members who
are rope leaders or show
equivalent interest (the
commitment to the CMC is a primary concern) and who possess the
ability to be a group
leader, and can
demonstrate self-sufficiency. Learn more.
